The vintage Rolex GMT Master ref 1675 is one of the most recognizable Rolex watches and enjoys one of the longest production runs of any watch in Rolex history. Ref 1675 was produced between 1959 and 1980. Because of its long production run, this GMT Master is not difficult to find. Throughout its long run, ref 1675 underwent several changes. Initially the earlier models featured a chapter ring and pointed crown guards. The earliest versions also utilized a Bakelite bezel. The first ten years of production saw a small triangle on the extra hour hand, offering a unique look. This addition was later replaced in the 1970s with a larger triangle. These early versions of the reference also featured gilt dial printing on the outer ring that went around the hour and minute markers on the dial. In 1965 the watch had been updated to all-white dial printing. By 1967, the outer ring had been removed completely from the model. The original pointed crown guards were also replaced with more rounded ones.

As Rolex developed more advanced movements, the caliber of the GMT Master ref 1675 was updated. The original ref 1675 featured caliber 1565 from 1959 to 1964. In 1965 the watch was updated to feature caliber 1575 until 1980.
The GMT Master 1675 is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also offers a water proof oyster case that has the ability to withstand water pressure up to 50 meters (165 feet).
